Avidyne Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck Receives EASA Approval on Extra EA-500 Turboprop Aircraft

EASA approval paves the way for European deliveries of the Extra EA-500 with Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck; Release 9 selected for its next-generation system architecture, single-pilot IFR FMS, and overall ease of use.

Hünxe, Germany & Lincoln, MA – Monday, June 20, 2011 – 

Extra Aircraft LLC and Avidyne Corporation today announced the approval by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) of the Avidyne Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck avionics suite for the highly fuel-efficient Extra EA-500 turboprop aircraft.  This EASA Major Change Approval certifies the EA-500 for IFR day and night operations with the Entegra Release 9 upgrade.

About Entegra Release 9

The Entegra Release9 system for the EA-500 includes XGA-resolution IFD5000 displays, dual-redundant FMS900w systems with a QWERTY keypad, dual next-generation 16-watt, fully-digital VHF NAV/COM radios, and dual WAAS/RNP-capable GPS receivers.  The system also includes dual PS Engineering PMA8000B audio panels, dual remote transponders, an STEC55X autopilot, the Avidyne TWX670 for color lightning, and an Avidyne TAS620 traffic advisory system.
